It is designed to fit over rear sight block in order to allow for continued use of the original fixed/iron sights up to 100 meters. Mount and MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny 8″ rail are rigid steel construction with Black Oxide finish. 100% Lifetime Warranty!

FITS:

M44, M38, T53 and M53

SPECIFICATIONS:

This Mount utilizes the barrel pin hole and the pivot pin hole in the rear sight block. The Mount will accommodate a front to back (horizontal, parallel to bore axis) pin center distance of 1.56″ (39.6mm) to 1.79″ (45.4mm) and allows for an up and down (vertical, perpendicular to bore axis) pin center distance of .18″ (4.6mm) to .41″ (10.3mm). The Mount is designed to fit over rear sight blocks that measure between .750″ (19.05mm) and .787″ (20.00mm) wide. The total weight including hardware is 5.4 oz. We have made every reasonable effort to ensure that this product will fit the majority of M38, M44 & T53’s. However, due to the large number of these firearms produced over many years around the world, it is impossible for us to allow for all manufacturing variation. Bolts are Grade 12.9 medium carbon Q&T alloy steel hardened to Rc 38-44 and have a tensile strength of 177000 psi. Tightening torque is 1.67 ft lbs. Proper tightening of all hardware should result in no movement of the mount during normal firing recoil. If for any reason our Mount does not work with your specific variant it can be returned (undamaged) for a full refund.

INCLUDED: All necessary hardware, hex wrench, drill (provided to clean out or straighten existing pin holes), punch (light duty punch not designed for difficult to remove pins such as those soldered) and complete installation instructions.

MOUNT DOES NOT INCLUDE SCOPE & RINGS!

FITMENT NOTES:

This mount will NOT work for a M91/30 or M91/59! See Model MN9130SSM for a M9130, M9159.

The pin hole in the rear sight block is often located inconsistently as a result of the original manufacturing process. The pin hole, relative to the pivot pin, is frequently not parallel and may be out of alignment or skewed. The Mount can only accommodate so much of this misalignment. You should measure the center distances from barrel pin to pivot pin on both sides and check those with the dimensions listed in the SPECIFICATIONS to ensure that the mount will fit properly. A 3mm drill is provided and can be used to clean out and straighten (to some degree) without enlarging the barrel pin hole once the pin is removed. The barrel pin hole and pivot pin hole in the rear sight block are generally .118″ (3.0mm) in diameter and the supplied 3mm bolts have a nominal OD of .115″ (2.92mm). This tight fit along with the use of an appropriate liquid thread locker for the screws and nuts, as well as proper tightening of the same should result in no movement of the Mount during normal firing recoil.

NOTE:

A MAPP (Methyl Acetylene Propadience Propane) gas torch and heavy duty punch may be required to remove existing pins from the rear sight block if they are soldered in place. You can usually find these items at your local hardware or plumbers supply. The application of heat, if done properly, will not cause damage. Keep in mind that you only need to reach the melting point of the solder and that this same temperature was achieved during original construction without adverse effects. Procedure provided in supplied instructions.

Any scope or mount that suffers an impact should not be trusted to be accurate. If you feel your mount has been compromised you can still use your original open iron sights. Design subject to change without prior notice. Caution! Improper installation or use may result in damage to property, severe injury, or loss of life. If for any reason this product does not function properly, discontinue use immediately. Always practice proper SAFETY and ensure an UNLOADED condition before beginning installation.

Features: CNC Machined from Solid Steel with Black Oxide finish. Made in USA! 100% Lifetime Warranty. Front Sight Adapter Ring allows for the use Original Post & Globe front sight (that has been removed during barrel shortening) of a Mosin Nagant 91/30 without permanent modification to firearm. It is designed to fit over tapered barrel of the Model 91/30 and be locked in place with two opposing set screws. The Original dovetailed Post & Globe front sight can then be pressed in to adapter. The adapter has been design to maintain the original sight line.

Fits:

The M9130 ONLY!

Fitment Instructions

Requirements:You must measure your barrel length correctly in order to choose the proper model. Barrel length is measured from the end of the barrel to the closed bolt face. (Always practice proper handling techniques, safety precautions, and ensure an UNLOADED condition before attempting to measure barrel length.) Close and lock bolt on UNLOADED chamber. Insert a ¼” diameter wooden dowel or other appropriate reference device that will not damage barrel into rifle bore from muzzle end until contact with closed bolt face. Mark dowel at end of barrel, remove dowel and use tape measure or yard stick determine barrel length. Use marked dowel to approximate the Final Fit Position of the Front Sight Adapter Ring model you select. Ensure that you check for any interference the Front Sight Adapter Ring may have with your forearm stock. The Front Sight Adapter Ring is ½” thick.

The standard, unmodified Mosin Nagant 9130 barrel is tapered along its length and is approximately 28.75″ long. The forward face of the original front sight is at approximately 27.70″. Therefore the forward barrel exposure is approximately 1.05″ (forward barrel exposure is length of barrel that extends beyond the front sight).

Due to original barrel manufacturing techniques, some degree of inconsistency in barrel tapers may exist. Therefore, the Final Fit Positions given for the Front Sight Adapter Ring are approximations only and may vary depending on individual barrel taper.

* Approximate postion of the forward face of front sight.

Fitment Example:

To determine your forward barrel exposure, subtract the Final Fit Position from your actual barrel length. If your answer is a negative number that model will NOT work.

Example, if your actual barrel length is 21.50” and you select:
Model MN-FSAR-D, then 21.50” – 19.50” = 2.00” , so the forward barrel exposure after installation would be approximately 2”.
or
Model MN-FSAR-C, then 21.50” – 21.50” = 0.00” , so the forward barrel exposure after installation would be approximately 0” or flush with the end of barrel.
or
Model MN-FSAR-B, then 21.50” – 23.50” = -2.00” , so the forward barrel exposure after installation would be approximately -2”. ***This model would NOT work!***

Installation

CAUTION! Improper installation or use may result in damage property, severe injury, or loss of life. If for any reason this product does not function properly, discontinue use immediately. Always practice proper handling techniques, safety precautions, and ensure an UNLOADED condition.

We have made every reasonable effort to ensure the Front Sight Adapter Ring will work with most original dovetailed Post & Globe front sights from Model 9130’s ONLY. However, due to original manufacturing variations and manipulation in the field, the adapter may need some consumer modification in order to hold the original front sight. The adapter has been designed to provide some degree of interference or “bite” when the original front sight is pressed in. It should require some effort and should not just “fall in”. If the Adapter opening that accepts the original front sight dovetail is too large it will have to be closed somewhat. This can be easily done with a bench vise or hammer and punch. If the adapter opening that accepts the original front sight dovetail is too small it will have to be opened somewhat. This can be easily done with a wedge. Complete instructions are supplied.
