Inconvenient at best, the cocking knob safety of the Mosin Nagant can be difficult to engage and is therefore often not used. In an effort to promote firearm safety by preventing accidental discharge, we have developed our Cocking Knob Safety Pull Ring (Patent Pending) which allows for more convenient manipulation of the Mosin Nagant safety.

The Safety Pull Ring features:

∙ A large diameter finger hole that will accommodate even gloved hands and does not interfere with bolt function.

∙ Easy installation utilizing a simple, non-marring, soft brass set screw with no permanent modification to the firearm required.

∙ Access to the slotted end of the firing pin via clearance hole through set screw.

∙ Sleek, stylish look and superior American craftsmanship available in both black oxide finished steel and polished stainless steel.

Fits:

M9130, M44, M38, T53, M53, M91, M24, M27, M28 and M39

Made in America with a 100% Lifetime Warranty.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE PURCHASING.

***There is wide variation in cocking knob diameter, thickness and crown radius in the Mosin Nagant population. In addition, there are many cases where the cocking knob neck is bent. We have made every reasonable effort to ensure that this product will fit the majority of Mosin Nagant cocking knobs. However, due to the large number of these firearms produced over many years around the world, it is impossible for us to allow for all manufacturing variation. As with all of our products, it may be returned undamaged for a full refund.

This product does not fix, repair, replace, improve or in any way change the condition or function of your firearms’ existing safety. It is designed to simply allow for easier manipulation the existing safety. NEVER depend solely on your firearms’ safety, ALWAYS keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction.

Installation Instructions: CAUTION! Improper installation or use may result in damage to property, severe injury, or loss of life. If for any reason this product does not function properly with your firearm, discontinue use immediately. Always practice proper FIREARM SAFETY and ensure firearm is UNLOADED prior to installation. (Although not required, the consumer may choose to use an appropriate liquid thread locker for the brass jacking set screw.) Keep firearm pointed in a safe direction and cock by closing bolt on an EMPTY chamber. Insert supplied 3/16” hex wrench through large hole in rear of Safety Pull Ring and advance forward through smaller hole in opposite side of ring. Gently rotate wrench until alignment allows for engagement in the brass jacking set screw. Retract fully the brass jacking set screw by rotating counterclockwise. (When installed correctly, the jacking screw must be centered over the exposed slotted screw in the crown of the bolt cocking knob. Take note of the fact that the center of the brass jacking set screw is relieved. This relief hole has been machined in the jacking screw to accommodate the free rotational movement of the slotted screw end of the firing pin in the crown of the cocking knob. When tightened, if the jacking screw is not centered it can interfere with the rotation of the slotted end of the firing pin which is keyed within the bolt.) Place the Safety Pull Ring arms over the bolt cocking knob until roughly centered and gently snug brass jacking set screw against back of knob by rotating clockwise, DO NOT TIGHTEN. The pull ring is designed to engage the knurled outside diameter of the cocking knob with four points of contact. While performing the following, exercise patience and make small adjustments to gradually tighten in the desired position: Rotate the Safety Pull Ring to the desired alignment and manipulate to the center of the cocking knob crown while simultaneously adjusting the position of the clamping arms to provide even contact against the knurled outer diameter of the knob. In its proper position, the Safety Pull Ring should be perfectly horizontal when viewed from the rear. This horizontal orientation will minimize the chance of the Safety Pull Ring coming in contact with the wooden stock upon firing. Once final positioning is achieved, tighten to a maximum torque of 7 ft lbs. Do not over tighten as that will “spring” the arms beyond there allowable limit. When tightened properly, the four points of contact should deform slightly providing an adequate degree of “bite” on the cocking knob. Check for proper fit and function before firing.

Operating Instructions: CAUTION! Engage / disengage safety ONLY with rifle pointed in a SAFE direction! With the Safety Pull Ring properly installed and fingers AWAY from trigger, engage the safety from a cocked condition by inserting finger securely in ring, gently pull cocking knob rearward and rotate counterclockwise approximately 45°. To disengage the safety, insert finger securely in ring, gently pull cocking knob rearward and rotate clockwise back to a vertical position.

Scope your Mosin while preserving its historic integrity.

This Mount Is For Russian Rifles.

Our original Scout Mount (model MN9130SSM) accommodates the vast majority of M9130’s but not all.

Some M9130’s either do not have the typical two pins holding the rear sight block to the barrel or those pins are soldered in place. In addition, these same pin holes may not both be the same distance from bore centerline resulting in an unacceptable degree of “pitch” when the mount is installed. Lastly, the rear sight block of the M9130 may not run parallel with the bore axis creating excessive mount “yaw”.

If your rifle has the above issues, the Universal Fit Anchor Point mount will work for you.

Like our very successful Mauser Mount, this mount features the proven Anchor Point concept of attachment by utilizing the recoil lug and rear sight ladder pivot hole. It will fit the M9130, M9159, M44, M38, T53 or M53

Made in America with a 100% Lifetime Warranty

*Dimensions shown in image at left.

Our high strength pic rail profile conforms to MIL-STD 1913 and is cold drawn extruded here in the United States from our own dies using low carbon steel. This raw blank extrusion is a lightweight (.5267 oz/in) with a minimal mass cross section (.1158 in²) and is just 5/16″ in overall height or thickness. Recoil grooves conforming to MIL-STD 1913 are then machined as well as weight reduction and mounting holes. For corrosion resistance and reduced light glare, we use a hot oxidizing process (MIL-C-13924) to produce a black oxide iron magnetite (Fe3O4) finish.

We offer both finish machined & plated Picatinny Rail Sections and raw extruded Picatinny Rail Blanks in the length shown below. Note: we can also supply longer lengths of raw extruded Picatinny Rail Blank. Please call for a quote.

The Brass Stacker™ Bayonet Adapter is designed to fit most manufacturers standard 3/4″ (.824″ ID, .922″ OD) Steel Galvanized EMT (Electrical Metallic Tubing) Electrical Conduit. EMT is lightweight, inexpensive and readily available. It can be found at most hardware stores, electrical supply houses and home improvement warehouses. It can be purchased in a variety of precut lengths and is easy to work with. It can be cut to desired length with any standard hack saw.

Adapter ONLY. Bayonet and EMT is NOT included.

Installation Instructions:

CAUTION! Improper installation or use may result in damage property, severe injury, or loss of life. If for any reason this product does not function properly, discontinue use immediately. Always practice proper handling techniques, safety precautions, and ensure an UNLOADED condition. Cut tubing (EMT) to desired length with any standard hack saw. Ensure cut is square and that you do not crush or deform tubing if holding in vise. Carefully deburr and smooth both inside and outside diameters of cut with file or sand paper. Measure 3/8″ from end of tubing and mark hole center placement on centerline of tubing. Carefully drill 9/32″ diameter hole through one side of tubing and deburr. (If tubing is out-of-round it may be necessary to use some degree of force to insert the Bayonet Adapter and seat it properly.) Insert adapters large end into tubing and line up adapter tapped hole with drilled hole in tubing. Gently tap adapter with soft hammer or rubber mallet until adapter flange is against end of tubing. Install one of the supplied ¼-20 x 3/8″ Button Head Cap Screws through drilled hole, into tapped hole and tighten with supplied hex wrench. (The adapter is designed to have a tight fit with the bayonet and should require some degree of force to seat properly. If the fit is loose, it may be necessary to very slightly collapse the hole in the bayonet by gently compressing it in a bench vise.) Install your bayonet onto the tapered end of the adapter by aligning the engraved area of the adapter with the slot in the bayonet. Gently tap bayonet onto adapter with soft hammer or rubber mallet until threaded hole in adapter is in the center of the “square” opening in bayonet. Depress locking mechanism of bayonet and install second supplied ¼-20 x 3/8″ Button Head Cap Screw into tapped hole in adapter and tighten with supplied hex wrench. Check for proper tight fit.

FITS:

M44, M38, T53 and M53

SPECIFICATIONS:

This Mount utilizes the barrel pin hole and the pivot pin hole in the rear sight block. The Mount will accommodate a front to back (horizontal, parallel to bore axis) pin center distance of 1.56″ (39.6mm) to 1.79″ (45.4mm) and allows for an up and down (vertical, perpendicular to bore axis) pin center distance of .18″ (4.6mm) to .41″ (10.3mm). The Mount is designed to fit over rear sight blocks that measure between .750″ (19.05mm) and .787″ (20.00mm) wide. The total weight including hardware is 5.4 oz. We have made every reasonable effort to ensure that this product will fit the majority of M38, M44 & T53’s. However, due to the large number of these firearms produced over many years around the world, it is impossible for us to allow for all manufacturing variation. Bolts are Grade 12.9 medium carbon Q&T alloy steel hardened to Rc 38-44 and have a tensile strength of 177000 psi. Tightening torque is 1.67 ft lbs. Proper tightening of all hardware should result in no movement of the mount during normal firing recoil. If for any reason our Mount does not work with your specific variant it can be returned (undamaged) for a full refund.

INCLUDED: All necessary hardware, hex wrench, drill (provided to clean out or straighten existing pin holes), punch (light duty punch not designed for difficult to remove pins such as those soldered) and complete installation instructions.

MOUNT DOES NOT INCLUDE SCOPE & RINGS!

FITMENT NOTES:

This mount will NOT work for a M91/30 or M91/59! See Model MN9130SSM for a M9130, M9159.

The pin hole in the rear sight block is often located inconsistently as a result of the original manufacturing process. The pin hole, relative to the pivot pin, is frequently not parallel and may be out of alignment or skewed. The Mount can only accommodate so much of this misalignment. You should measure the center distances from barrel pin to pivot pin on both sides and check those with the dimensions listed in the SPECIFICATIONS to ensure that the mount will fit properly. A 3mm drill is provided and can be used to clean out and straighten (to some degree) without enlarging the barrel pin hole once the pin is removed. The barrel pin hole and pivot pin hole in the rear sight block are generally .118″ (3.0mm) in diameter and the supplied 3mm bolts have a nominal OD of .115″ (2.92mm). This tight fit along with the use of an appropriate liquid thread locker for the screws and nuts, as well as proper tightening of the same should result in no movement of the Mount during normal firing recoil.

NOTE:

A MAPP (Methyl Acetylene Propadience Propane) gas torch and heavy duty punch may be required to remove existing pins from the rear sight block if they are soldered in place. You can usually find these items at your local hardware or plumbers supply. The application of heat, if done properly, will not cause damage. Keep in mind that you only need to reach the melting point of the solder and that this same temperature was achieved during original construction without adverse effects. Procedure provided in supplied instructions.

Any scope or mount that suffers an impact should not be trusted to be accurate. If you feel your mount has been compromised you can still use your original open iron sights. Design subject to change without prior notice. Caution! Improper installation or use may result in damage to property, severe injury, or loss of life. If for any reason this product does not function properly, discontinue use immediately. Always practice proper SAFETY and ensure an UNLOADED condition before beginning installation.

Features: CNC Machined from Solid Steel with Black Oxide finish. Made in USA! 100% Lifetime Warranty. Front Sight Adapter Ring allows for the use Original Post & Globe front sight (that has been removed during barrel shortening) of a Mosin Nagant 91/30 without permanent modification to firearm. It is designed to fit over tapered barrel of the Model 91/30 and be locked in place with two opposing set screws. The Original dovetailed Post & Globe front sight can then be pressed in to adapter. The adapter has been design to maintain the original sight line.

Fits:

The M9130 ONLY!

Fitment Instructions

Requirements:You must measure your barrel length correctly in order to choose the proper model. Barrel length is measured from the end of the barrel to the closed bolt face. (Always practice proper handling techniques, safety precautions, and ensure an UNLOADED condition before attempting to measure barrel length.) Close and lock bolt on UNLOADED chamber. Insert a ¼” diameter wooden dowel or other appropriate reference device that will not damage barrel into rifle bore from muzzle end until contact with closed bolt face. Mark dowel at end of barrel, remove dowel and use tape measure or yard stick determine barrel length. Use marked dowel to approximate the Final Fit Position of the Front Sight Adapter Ring model you select. Ensure that you check for any interference the Front Sight Adapter Ring may have with your forearm stock. The Front Sight Adapter Ring is ½” thick.

The standard, unmodified Mosin Nagant 9130 barrel is tapered along its length and is approximately 28.75″ long. The forward face of the original front sight is at approximately 27.70″. Therefore the forward barrel exposure is approximately 1.05″ (forward barrel exposure is length of barrel that extends beyond the front sight).

Due to original barrel manufacturing techniques, some degree of inconsistency in barrel tapers may exist. Therefore, the Final Fit Positions given for the Front Sight Adapter Ring are approximations only and may vary depending on individual barrel taper.

* Approximate postion of the forward face of front sight.

Fitment Example:

To determine your forward barrel exposure, subtract the Final Fit Position from your actual barrel length. If your answer is a negative number that model will NOT work.

Example, if your actual barrel length is 21.50” and you select:
Model MN-FSAR-D, then 21.50” – 19.50” = 2.00” , so the forward barrel exposure after installation would be approximately 2”.
or
Model MN-FSAR-C, then 21.50” – 21.50” = 0.00” , so the forward barrel exposure after installation would be approximately 0” or flush with the end of barrel.
or
Model MN-FSAR-B, then 21.50” – 23.50” = -2.00” , so the forward barrel exposure after installation would be approximately -2”. ***This model would NOT work!***

Installation

CAUTION! Improper installation or use may result in damage property, severe injury, or loss of life. If for any reason this product does not function properly, discontinue use immediately. Always practice proper handling techniques, safety precautions, and ensure an UNLOADED condition.

We have made every reasonable effort to ensure the Front Sight Adapter Ring will work with most original dovetailed Post & Globe front sights from Model 9130’s ONLY. However, due to original manufacturing variations and manipulation in the field, the adapter may need some consumer modification in order to hold the original front sight. The adapter has been designed to provide some degree of interference or “bite” when the original front sight is pressed in. It should require some effort and should not just “fall in”. If the Adapter opening that accepts the original front sight dovetail is too large it will have to be closed somewhat. This can be easily done with a bench vise or hammer and punch. If the adapter opening that accepts the original front sight dovetail is too small it will have to be opened somewhat. This can be easily done with a wedge. Complete instructions are supplied.

Allows for mounting of Scout Scope or other long eye relief optics on your military surplus Mosin Nagant model M91/30 and M91/59 without the need to drill & tap receiver or make any permanent modifications to the firearm. It is designed to fit over rear sight block in order to allow for continued use of the original fixed/iron sights up to 100 meters. Mount and MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny 8″ rail are rigid steel construction with Black Oxide finish. 100% Lifetime Warranty!

Fits:

M9130, M9159

SPECIFICATIONS:

The Mount will accommodate a front to back (horizontal) pin center distance of 1.39″ (35.3mm) to 1.82″ (46.7mm) and allows for .039″ (1mm) of up and down (vertical) movement. The Mount is designed to fit over rear sight blocks that measure between .750″(19.05mm) and .787″(20.00mm) wide. The total weight including hardware is 5.5 oz. We have made every reasonable effort to ensure that this product will fit the majority of M9130’s. If for any reason our Mount does not work with your specific 9130 it can be returned (undamaged) for a full refund.

This mount will NOT work for the M38, M44 or T53. Nor will it work for an M91 with Chatellerault or Konovalov type rear sight block! See Model MN384453SSM for a M38, M44 or T53.

The pin holes in the rear sight block are often located inconsistently as a result of the original manufacturing process. The two holes are frequently not parallel to each other and may be out of alignment or skewed. The mount can only accomodate so much of this misalignment. You should measure the center distances from pin to pin on both sides and check those with the dimensions listed in the SPECIFICATIONS to ensure that the mount will fit properly. A 3mm drill is provided and can be used to clean out and straighten (to some degree) without enlarging the pins holes once the pins are removed. The pin holes for the rear sight block are generally .118″(3.0mm) in diameter and the supplied 3mm bolts have a nominal OD of .115″(2.92mm). This tight fit along with the use of an appropriate liquid thread locker for the screws and nuts, as well as proper tightening of the same should result in no movement of the Mount during normal firing recoil. Occasionally the rear sight block itself, as it sits on the barrel dovetail underneath, can be out of alignment with the bore axis. This condition, if extreme, can adversely effect how the Mount sits. Please note that some rifles may have pins holding the rear sight block to the barrel soldered in place. Instructions for correctly applying the required heat to remove the solder are provided for use at consumer’s discretion. Also, some may have pins that require the use of substantial force to remove. This should be done with a heavy duty punch (not supplied). The supplied light duty punch is NOT designed for difficult to remove pins.

Please refer to mount “Specifications” to determine the acceptable amount of deviation for the conditions listed below. IMPORTANT! If your rifle has a condition as described below that will not allow the MN9130SSM Mount to work… please see our MN39SSMR Universal Fit Anchor Point Series mount.

FIGURE 1) A single pin holding the rear sight block to the barrel will not allow the MN9130SSM mount to attach properly. **The mount can be used as a template to drill a second hole with the supplied drill bit at consumer’s discretion.
FIGURE 2) Pins not perpendicular or skewed to bore centerline can result in the MN9130SSM mount not fitting properly.
FIGURE 3) Pins not the same distance from bore centerline can result in an unacceptable degree of up or down “Pitch” making the MN9130SSM mount hard to level front to back.
FIGURE 4) A rear sight block that does not run parallel with bore centerline can result in an unacceptable degree of right or left “Yaw” making the MN9130SSM mount lead off to one side.
FIGURE 5) Pins higher on one side from bore centerline than the other side can result in an unacceptable degree of “Roll” making the MN9130SSM mount hard to level side to side.

DUE TO AVAILABILITY, WE REGRET THAT WE CAN NO LONGER OFFER THE MOUNT/SCOPE COMBINATION AT A DISCOUNTED PRICE.
